How to properly ventilate the kitchen when spray painting

You must use at least 2 of these methods in order for ventilation to be successful, Ventilation is about air in and air out here is a list of thing that must be done

  • An explosion proof fan MUST be used as a standard fan is not adequate enough and can be extremely detrimental if it was to explode due to flammable fumes being taken out of the home.
  • All windows must be open to allow fresh air to come in and fumes to escape out of the building
  • If the rom has sky light windows these must be open as they are a great way for fumes to escape
  • Use a HVAC fan, HVAC or Heating, Ventilation and air conditioning fans are perfect for removing fumes
  • Use an air purifier

Explosion proof fans: When using explosion proof fans the best protocol is to have the fan out side of the building while having a ducting pipe in the room. This help all the particles escape from the building and not get sucked back in through the widows which will be open

HVAC: HVAC systems are there to recycle the air so which makes them extremely useful for rooms that have no windows, This is because the air will be sucked into the machine and all the particles will be filtered into filter paper before exerting new clean air which will ventilate the kitchen perfectly.

Dynamic spray safeguarding process

At dynamic spray our process on how to ventilate the kitchen when spray painting is to make sure the fan is still running for 1 hour once the paint is dry and all the masking has been removed.

As the paint is being applied we there is overspray and fume particles entering the air. The majority of this will be taken out by our fan the rest will dry in the air and fall to the ground and worksurface that we thoroughly mask.

After 30 mins when the paint is dry we strip the kitchen from top to bottom and roll up all our mess in one big ball then remove this out of the house. At this point 90% of the particles have been removed from the building, once we have put all the doors back on, a meticulous clean over all the kitchen is then done to remove 99% of all fumes dust and smells.

What happens if we do not properly ventilate the kitchen when spray painting:

Breathing Fumes into the lungs can have a detrimental effect on your health. Starting with headaches and nausea, and in some cases causing occupation asthma cancer or even death.
