What is kitchen spraying

Kitchen Spraying is exactly what it say on the tin. It is applying a specialist coating to your kitchen. This is where we find the similarities stop, Dynamic spray are not a one coating company, the coating we use all depend on the surface we are spraying. we would apply a different coating to uPVC compared to the coating to wooden kitchen doors. There are some coatings out there that are advertised as a one trip pony however we find the different products we use enhance the the visual look of each and every different surface.

Can any kitchen be sprayed

Yes, we can spray any kitchen but the must be treated and prepared in the correct manner n order to give the best adhesion and longevity to the kitchen. There are many different variety of surface from solid woods like oak and pine to veneers and wraps. Each and every kitchen has a different process in order to make the kitchen shine the best it can.

Wrapped kitchens: Wraps must always be removed, we may offer a cost alternative but we do want all our doors to be best of quality, by removing the wrap and starting the build up of coatings from fresh we find this is the best way to create adhesion. kitchen spraying is vastly superior to kitchen wraps when comparing to quality, longevity and adhesion.

Veneers Kitchens: Veneer kitchens are a type of wrap like your carcasses where there is a chipboard internal door with a excessive glued vinyl or melamine over the wood that is simply impossible to remove even if it could be removed the wood is that rough that it would not be sprayable. An adhesion promoter is advised for these style of doors

Solid wood:  Pine and oak doors would be classed as solid wood. These are made from freshly cut trees, not using any synthetic materials. These doors are cleaned and sanded in order to remove any original varnish and paint. If they are heavily hand painted the door may have the original paint heated/burned of exposing the bare wood at the start of the process.

What does kitchen spraying entail

As explained above all kitchens are treated slightly different, even though the initial process is very similar. Kitchen spraying does have a standard process but we may differ slightly depending on the surface:

1. All doors are removed and brought to the Dynamic Spray workshop, this is a must as we need to eliminate the amount of spray that id done in your home. The chemicals we are using a highly toxic and can have severe detrimental effect to your health.
2. All doors are cleaned removing all contaminants with a kitchen spraying prep clean solution. At this point wraps are also removed where needed
3. If you have opted for new handles for your kitchen we fill all old holes , measure and pre drill the new holes ready to install at the end.
4. Sanding is then key, a vigorous sanding process then takes places to cause a good key to the surface and smoothing out any imperfections
5. Priming or adhesion promoter applied, depending on the surface depends on the which we would use
6. We then sand again  checking all the doors for final imperfections or reactions.
7. A final prime cover all of the doors front and rear is then applied
8. A final sand on both sides of the door with a finer grit sandpaper to ensure the surface is as smooth as possible.
9. The first top coat is applied on the front and on the rear, then our doors are baked and cured using infra red lights
10. The final top coat is then applied ensuring the surface is now as smooth and a clean as possible.
11. A final bake and cure for 1 hour and then the doors are left to settle over night.

Spray day/ Completion day

1. On this day we arrive at your home around 09:00
2. Masking all of kitchen internal carcasses, worktops ‘and floors. (for pictures see images below)
3. Your kitchen is then cleaned with kitchen prep clean
4. Sanding to create a key to the carcasses and any damages are fixed and filled
5. Primer or adhesion promoter is applied depending on what is needed
6. Meticulously sanding again with a finer grit sandpaper to create a smooth surface is then essential
7. Finally 2 top coats are applied within a 15 minute window ensuring good coverage.
8. Dinner time (45 mins to allow the coatings to full dry)
9. Kitchen gets a final check for coverage and all paper is removed out of the home
10. Doors and handles are then put back on
11. A full clean of the kitchen is done before we leave.

How much does kitchen spraying cost:

Every kitchen is different and every kitchen has different challenges. However, every kitchen respray is going to save you between 75/90% from a full restoration job. What colours can I choose:

Our colour selection exceeds 10,000+ colours. We can do matt to gloss, flat colours to pearl and metallic colours. Our most common colour choices come from RAL, Farrow and Ball, Pantone, NCS and British standard. If you still struggle to find your perfect math we can colour match your colour up to 99% if you have an example piece.
